A MORE DIRECT RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN INTENT AND ACTION.

AXLminds is working toward interfaces that begin closer to thought while keeping the person firmly in control.

01 / THESIS

THE INTERFACE SHOULD BEGIN CLOSER TO THE THOUGHT.

Today, every digital action must travel through layers of physical interaction: movement, devices, menus, and commands. For many people those layers are useful. For others they are a barrier.

We are researching whether deliberate, non-invasive brain activity can become another reliable input—not a replacement for human judgment, but a shorter path between a clear intention and a useful action.

02 / PRINCIPLES

The standard for what we build.

01

Begin with deliberate, constrained choices. The system should respond to an action a person intends to make, not pretend to decode unrestricted thought.

02

A result is only meaningful when the underlying signal is valid. Measurement quality, uncertainty, and rejection belong at the center of the interface.

03

The person initiates the interaction, understands its limits, and can stop it. Brain data should remain legible, bounded, and handled with care.

04

Progress is not a dramatic demo. It is a small action that works repeatedly, under known conditions, and makes a real task easier.

03 / HORIZON

Ambition, in the right order.

NOW

BUILD THE MEASUREMENT LAYER

Develop purpose-built, non-invasive EEG acquisition for deliberate cognition research, with raw signal integrity and explicit validation.

NEXT

MAKE DELIBERATE INPUT RELIABLE

Test narrow choices, reject uncertain data, and learn what remains dependable across people, sessions, and environments.

LATER

REDUCE THE INTERFACE

Explore more natural paths from intention to communication and control without overstating what the technology can know.

04 / DIRECTION

Where this research can lead.

CONTROL

Turn verified deliberate intent into useful computer action with fewer physical steps.

COMMUNICATION

Reduce the distance between an intended expression and the tools used to communicate it.

MEMORY

Explore responsible tools that help people preserve and retrieve information they choose to keep.

COGNITION

Research interfaces that can work alongside human thought while leaving agency with the person.
